It is time to stand up and be counted, Matthews. The 2010 Census surveys will start arriving in mailboxes in early March. The survey features 10 questions that will take about 10 minutes to answer. In order to be counted, residents should mail their Census surveys back by April 1.
The data collected from the Census is used to determine how many seats in the House of Representatives each state holds and to allocate more than $400 billion each year to communities for education, public health, transportation and neighborhood improvements.
It also creates a more accurate picture of our community and helps to attract new businesses and generate more jobs.
