Matthews, NC – Are you ready to enjoy the warm spring weather? Then come put your toes in the sand at the 10th annual BeachFest Matthews, Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12 at Stumptown Park, 120 South Trade Street. Admission to the two-day festival is free.
BeachFest is much more than music. Families can enjoy carnival rides, an inflatable “Beach Bounce” village, and an arts and crafts boardwalk. Have lunch or dinner at Food Truck Alley, see interactive exhibits on Sponsor Row, and dance to great beach music on the Novant Main Stage dance floor.
Scheduled to perform during the two-day event are Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot, Blackwater Rhythm & Blues, North Tower Band, Carolina Soul Band, Too Much Sylvia, and The Fantastic Shakers.
The “Cruisin’ Car Show” returns this year on Saturday at 9:00am, and car enthusiasts are encouraged to participate. Pre-registration is $5 per vehicle, or $10 per vehicle on event day. Awards will be given for the Top 20, Best of Show, and Mayor’s Choice.
To accommodate pedestrians and vendors, Trade Street will close between John Street and McDowell Street on Friday this year, at 9:00am. The Trade Street closure will move to Main Street at 5pm., until the event’s conclusion around midnight Saturday evening.
