Armed Robbery

On Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at approximately 2:14 p.m., we received a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of Big Lots located at 10416 E. Independence Blvd. The victim was walking to her car and while putting her dog inside, a man came up beside her.  He threatened her with a knife as he got into her car and drove away with her dog still inside.  He was last seen traveling south on Matthews Township Pkwy. (Hwy. 51) towards Sam Newell Rd.  No injuries were reported from this incident.

Stolen Vehicle – Is a black four-door Chevrolet Avalanche, with chrome wheels, that has an Elevation Church sticker on the back window and a Cadillac emblem on the rear tailgate. The North Carolina registration plate number is: EAB-9365.  



Victim’s Dog – Is a brindle and white boxer.


Suspect - Is described as a black male, between 5’10” – 5’11” tall, weighing between 190 -210 lbs., wearing gym shorts, light tan hiking boots, and a blue hospital scrub style shirt.
