Town of Matthews Pumpkin Contest & Not-So-Spooky Halloween Event Slated for October

The Not-So-Spooky Halloween event returns to Stumptown Park on Saturday October 26th
 

Matthews, NC – The Town of Matthews invites you to carve, paint, or decorate a pumpkin and enter the 2nd annual Halloween Pumpkin Contest in October. Entries should be dropped off at the Parks & Recreation Event Office (196-B South Trade Street, behind the Free Clinic in Stumptown Park) on October 25th from 9am-6pm, or October 26th from 10am-4pm. Judging will take place Saturday October 26th at the Not-So-Spooky Halloween event. Attendees at the event will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite pumpkin. The winner of the most votes will receive a $50 gift card.

The Not-So-Spooky Halloween event returns to Stumptown Park on Saturday October 26th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This free event is for families, with a focus on children 10 and under. It will feature face painting, bounce houses, carriage rides, pumpkin contest judging, Curley the Clown, popcorn, and plenty of sweet treats. Area businesses will provide a safe, interactive way for children to trick-or-treat in the park. The movie “The Haunted Mansion” will be shown at dusk (approximately 7pm). Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
